About CheckPeptides

CheckPeptides is an independent research database providing trust scores, clinical trial data, FDA adverse event summaries, vendor ratings, and clinic listings for peptides.

Mission

Peptide use is growing fast — but consumer-accessible, research-backed information is scarce. Most sources are vendor-written, anecdote-heavy, or behind paywalls.

CheckPeptides aggregates public scientific data and surfaces it in a format that helps consumers make more informed decisions. We don't promote peptide use — we make the evidence legible.

Trust Score Methodology

R Research Evidence Score

  • Clinical trial count and phase weighting (Phase 3 > Phase 2 > Phase 1)
  • Total enrollment across trials
  • Peer-reviewed paper count from PubMed
  • Citation count as quality signal
  • FDA approval status (bonus)

S Safety Profile Score

  • FDA FAERS adverse event report counts
  • Serious event rate (hospitalization, death)
  • Inverse weighting — more adverse events = lower score
  • Normalized per usage prevalence estimate

Combined Score

Final trust score is a weighted composite of Research Evidence (60%) and Safety Profile (40%). Scores range 0–100. Grade bands: A (80–100), B (60–79), C (40–59), D (20–39), F (<20).

Vendor Scores

Vendor trust scores add three dimensions on top of basic research alignment:

  • Transparency: COA availability, third-party testing, lab publishing
  • Reputation: Reddit sentiment, Trustpilot/BBB ratings, community feedback
  • Compliance: FDA warning letters, enforcement actions, known violations

FAQ

Is this medical advice?

No. CheckPeptides provides information for educational and research purposes only. Nothing on this site should be interpreted as medical advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before using any peptide or starting any treatment.

How are trust scores calculated?

Peptide trust scores combine a Research Evidence sub-score (weighted by clinical trial count and phase, paper count, citation quality) and a Safety Profile sub-score (FDA adverse event data, serious event rates). Vendor scores add Transparency, Reputation, and Compliance dimensions.

How often is data updated?

Data is refreshed monthly via automated pipelines pulling from ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, and openFDA. Change log entries are generated whenever scores or key fields change.

Can vendors pay to improve their score?

Never. Scores are computed algorithmically from public data sources only. CheckPeptides does not accept payment to alter rankings or scores.
